A little bit about me
Hi, I’m Lucy! I’m a 3rd year Psychology PhD student at UC Davis, where I study how emotions shape moral reasoning and decision-making. I earned my BA in Psychology from Boston University in 2020, studying children’s beliefs about inequality and justice, and later worked as a lab manager at UC Irvine, investigating cross-cultural views of fairness. Now at UC Davis, I’m diving deeper into these topics with a special emphasis on the role that emotion plays in decision making.
Originally from the Bay Area, I grew up moving around quite a bit and have lived in cities all around the US. Growing up in a diverse array of communities helped shape my appreciation for connection and the many ways people navigate the world. I’ve grown to value the richness of these communities and the unique stories they bring. This sense of curiosity about people’s perspectives drives my research and motivates me to explore how emotions and experiences influence the ways we think about fairness, inequality, and morality.
As President of the Psychology Student Association at UC Davis, I thrive on bringing people together and creating a sense of belonging. When I’m not in the lab, you’ll find me in the mountains or on the beach, catching up with family on a call, or diving into a great podcast—always looking for ways to connect, learn, and enjoy life.
