Research Experience

• Contribute to the media engagement team to translate scientific findings to the public.

• Propose capstone project to improve aspects of the journal related to engagement, policy, and accessible communication.

• Foster peer-to-peer mentorship within the journal and gain professional development skills.

• Lead project design, including programming of stimuli, pre-registration of study analyses and methods, background literature review research, pilot testing, data collection, data analysis and visualization using R, and presentation and documentation of results.

• Write and manage IRB protocols using adult, child, and cross-cultural studies.

• Conduct research in both online and in-person environments (e.g., in lab, parks, and museums).

• Oversee, train, coordinate, and mentor a team of 14 research assistants, grad students & postdocs.

Project: Eliciting language samples for analysis (ELSA) from children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  

• Coding speech patterns of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) using ELAN.

• Created an instructional video for at-home assessments and developed a guide for adapting ELSA to different cultures.

Projects: Investigating the effects of parenting stress on both parenting and child development; measuring effectiveness of a modular approach to therapy on children with anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress.

• Observe and help with exposure therapy for patient sessions; create and organize patient charts.

• Code therapy sessions to measure clinician’s adherence to the diagnostic manual.

• Research and organize publications for literature reviews using EndNote.

• Prepare literature reviews and analyze data relevant to children’s moral cognition and emotions.

• Manage undergraduate research assistants and coordinate studies with both children and adults.

• Conducted product research and created editorial content to be published.

• Analyzed predicted market trends for 2020 and presented a report on relevant trends.

• Used Data Studio to analyze how Which? compares to similar brands via keyword searches.

Project: Measuring sensory learning differences between typically developing infants and infants with a sibling diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

• Input and analyze data using REDCap and conduct literature review on sensory processing.

• Conduct eye-tracking and EEG data pre-processing and cleaning using NetStation.

Projects: Studying the effects of experiences of inequality on cognitive development in children; determining the multifaceted ways in which children learn to define fairness; measuring factors that influence children’s perceptions of their socioeconomic status.

• Run research studies on volunteers and collect data, both in the lab and in greater Boston area.

• Input and analyze data using SPSS; manage database of participant contact information.

• Volunteer for Museum of Science Living Learning Laboratory (2017 – 2020).
